Vitamin D for Headache and Neck Pain Care
Vitamin D deficiency is a worldwide concern estimated to affect 30% to 50% of the population. (4) Researchers report that vitamin D deficiency may well cause or worsen neck pain, back pain, and muscle spasm. They state that correcting vitamin D deficiency is important in treating these conditions since it is not expensive and offers big benefits in terms of quality of care and cost. (5) A further review of studies done regarding vitamin D and headache revealed that there is a link between vitamin D levels and headaches (strongest link being that between vitamin D levels and migraine). Researchers suggest that headache sufferers, particularly those with migraines, may reduce the frequency of headaches by supplementing with vitamin D. (6) Simple!Check your vitamin D level, and up it if necessary.
